Certification Study Guide

Everything on the exams comes from public HailBytes material. Pick your track below, review the source pages, and take the exam when you're ready. Most candidates need one to two hours of study per track.

Sales Certification

What the exam covers

  • The two HailBytes products and who buys them: ASM (self-hosted external attack surface management for MSSPs, enterprise security teams, and pen-test firms) and SAT (enterprise phishing simulation and security awareness training)
  • Resale mechanics: AWS CPPO and Azure MPO private offers, how the invoice flows through the cloud provider, and how partner margin works (you set the resale price, HailBytes receives the wholesale baseline)
  • Discount structure: volume-based wholesale improvement, plus 10% (2-year) / 15% (3-year) multi-year uplift
  • Why marketplace purchase matters to committed-spend customers: EDP (AWS) and MACC (Azure) burn-down
  • Competitive positioning and qualification

Certified Engineer

What the exam covers

  • ASM deployment model: self-hosted into the customer's (or managing partner's) AWS or Azure environment, and why that matters for data residency
  • What ASM does after deployment: continuous external discovery and monitoring with 40+ recon tools and AI-assisted analysis of findings
  • SAT campaign setup: phishing simulations, post-click training (click event → training quiz landing page → results in the campaign report)
  • Delivery prerequisites: allowlisting the simulation sending infrastructure in the customer's mail gateway
  • Enterprise identity: SSO and SCIM provisioning

Hands-on practice

We recommend running at least one sandbox deployment before customer work. Ask your partner manager (or [email protected]) for a trial environment — a scripted deployment scenario is part of the planned practical assessment for this track.

Support Certification

What the exam covers

  • The certified partner support model: you deliver L1/L2 to your customers, HailBytes is your L3 escalation path
  • What a complete L3 escalation contains: reproduction steps, logs, environment details (cloud, region, version), and what you already tried — never customer credentials
  • Support plan structure: one tier structure, pricing, and SLA set covering both SAT and ASM — from free community support to enterprise 24/7 with a 24-hour SLA
  • Triage order: status page and known issues first, then the customer's own cloud environment (the platform is self-hosted), then escalate
  • Where documentation and partner resources live
